I don’t give their treats as part of the daily diet — treats are special and they are only for “training” (could also be bonding time treats). This makes the treat more high value. 00:47:12 Grace Innemee: Replying to "All nuts, but should..." I think it depends on the bird. One sunflower seed for a macaw is much different than for a parrotlet. I like to have treats that they can just have one bite and then be ready for the next thing. 00:48:57 Grace Innemee: Replying to "How many seeds can y..." I’m sure that depends on a lot of things…especially how long your bird can focus and how fast he fills up 🙂 00:49:11 Jane Mason: Replying to "I've tried baby food..." Well less than half a pecan for a cockatiel. 😅 He started gaining weight and we had to pull back to a quarter and not every day. Not a happy camper on that, my oldest loves pecans! 00:51:24 elaine venditti: Ihave a blue and gold. iuse teeats for training and i cut a walnut into 200 pieces. I helped change diet for a picky eclectus by putting seeds first on top of sweet potato, then buried in sweet potato, then slowly changing the ratio and adding other things to forage. Eventually he liked just sweet potato mash 00:51:37 Marcella Kuske: Replying to "I've tried baby food..." Mine will only eat veggies if they are chopped very thin. Kinda like shredded paper. Cause they need some time to build trust first, right? 00:55:23 Kathryn Lawson: Replying to "I've tried baby food..." It can depend on the type of veggie, also. Sweet potatoes were love at first bite for our conures, but it took literally years of watching our budgies munch on greens to even show interest. Vice versa for the budgies and baby food - the conures love it, but the first budgie only just started eating some 00:55:26 Laura Tegart: Seems interested and engaged. 00:55:33 Jasmina van de Kraats: so cuteee 00:55:40 Jessica Abreu: Happy dance 00:55:48 Misa Martin: Avoidance? 00:55:48 Amanda Starlin: she seems a little hesitant 00:55:50 Marcella Kuske: Nervous 00:55:51 Angie D: nervous 00:55:52 Elizabeth Cromwell: backed away to safe distance 00:55:54 vicki knutson: trepidation 00:55:54 Jane Mason: As soon as she initiates the call, she backs way off. tells me she's hesitant and afraid. 00:55:56 Jessica Abreu: Wants a good vantage point? 00:55:58 Jules Hucke: Cautious but excited 00:56:01 Jean Bruce: nervous 00:56:01 Tara Hernandez: Excited and curious until it started ringing 00:56:02 Julie Kuntze: Not quite super comfortable.
