What do you do with SCREAMING Parrots?

Training Webinar
Tue July 16th 4:00pm to 5:15pm (approx)

Maybe the advice that makes me feel most sad is: “Ignore your bird when they are screaming.” 😭

As if they are simply automatons making loud and awful noises and if we ignore them – ignore the pain they are expressing, ignore that they have wants and feelings and they are stuck or bored or need us or are frightened…

If we pretend the sounds are meaningless and obnoxious, and not the heartfelt begging of a little one who has a lot less agency than us :'(

I hate this advice, but it was what I learned, too. “Ignore your bird if they are screaming”

I think: “What if I were in a cage, and when I asked for things or told my friends ‘I am so afraid!’ or ‘I am frightened’ they just ignored me even harder? Or yelled at me? Or closed me away from them in a room?

What if the more I told them ‘I am so sad and frightened’, the more they ignored me?

I DO think our little birds can live the most EXCELLENT lives with us!! 🥰

And a big part of that is shaping and teaching our sweet bird kids how to communicate with us in ways that… don’t make us crazy 😂 But do help us meet their needs! 😍

Fun fact! Isabelle used to scream and sob for FOUR HOURS PER DAY and I thought I was actually, literally going to lose my ever-loving brain. 🥴 I get it more. More than you can imagine. 😂

IN ADDITION TO teaching our birds HOW to communicate in more gentle, ear-happy ways…😅

It’s also filling their day with strategic fun and time-fillers that keep them SO busy! A full mind is a quiet(er) body 🤗

An easy, holistic approach to creating super happy bird kids who are *really* effective communicators!
